Good to know: Shooting ranges and go-karts set their own age, height and ID rules – the electric kart in our data requires 145 cm; check the booking page for the rest instead of assuming. Kayak tours paddle the Motława canal past Granary Island and Ołowianka island, not the open Baltic, and there is also a winter kayak tour. Jet-ski offers are the most expensive (hundreds of euros) and have no reviews yet.

Frequently asked questions

How many days do you need in Gdańsk?

One full day covers the Old Town (the Royal Route, St. Mary’s Basilica, the Motława waterfront) and a harbour cruise. Add a second day for the Museum of the Second World War, the European Solidarity Centre and Westerplatte, and a third for Malbork Castle or Sopot and Gdynia. Most of what we list takes one to three hours; only Stutthof, Malbork and the Wolf’s Lair are half-day to full-day outings.

Does Poland use the euro?

No. Poland is in the EU and the Schengen area but uses the złoty (PLN). Cards are widely accepted, but bring some złoty for small purchases. The prices on this site are in euros as shown by GetYourGuide when we checked them in November 2026; the booking page shows the current price.

Can I get to Westerplatte without a tour?

Yes. Westerplatte lies on the harbour entrance, north of the Old Town, and is where the Second World War began on 1 September 1939. The cruises in our listing take about 80 minutes round trip from the Old Town and show it from the water with commentary; a guided walking tour of the site itself takes about 1.5 hours. The peninsula is open-air, and a new museum is being built there.

Is Malbork Castle better visited by train or with a tour?

Malbork is about 43 km from Gdańsk, with trains of roughly 25–35 minutes from Gdańsk Główny. A tour (about €90 and up in our data) adds hotel pickup, a guide or audio guide and takes about half a day; going by train is cheaper but leaves the planning to you. Allow several hours at the castle.

Can I visit Stutthof on my own?

Yes, the memorial museum at Stutthof, east of Gdańsk, is open to individual visitors and can be reached by public transport. The tours in our listing start at about €109 because they include transport from Gdańsk and a licensed guide; a small-group tour takes about 4 hours including a 2-hour guided visit.

When is the best time to visit Gdańsk?

Summer (June to August) is the high season for cruises, kayaking and the beach at Sopot, but the Baltic stays cold – around 18–22 °C in August. In late July and August the St. Dominic’s Fair fills the Old Town, and in late November and December the Christmas market opens. Winter is quiet and cold; museums, concerts and food tours work all year, and there is even a winter kayak tour.

How do I get to Sopot and Gdynia?

The SKM city train links Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia, so you do not need a tour for the transport. Sopot has a long wooden pier and the nearest proper beach resort; Gdynia is the modern port city with its own museum ships. Our listings for Sopot and Gdynia are mostly walks, private tours and boat trips.
